Learn to Kitesurf at Nananu-i-Ra — April to November Season
Learn to kitesurf at Nananu-i-Ra, Fiji. Three-day beginner course with gear from AUD$900, or hourly coaching. Season runs April to early November.
About this experience
Nananu-i-Ra sits off the northern tip of Viti Levu where the southeast trades funnel through at a reliable twenty to twenty-five knots, and Wind Sports Fiji have built a small, unhurried kite operation around them. Complete beginners take the three-day course — six hours of one-to-one coaching plus all your gear — and finish it able to ride. If you already kite, you'll do a one-hour refresher, then hire by the day or the week with a support boat on the water and group coaching thrown in. The season is firm: they open in early April and wind up in early November, and nothing runs December through March. Getting there is part of the deal and worth knowing in advance — two to three hours by road from Nadi, then fifteen to thirty minutes by boat. Travel insurance covering water sports is required, not suggested.
