Upper Navua River Rafting with Rivers Fiji — Full Day
Raft the Upper Navua Gorge with Rivers Fiji — waterfalls, basalt canyon walls, Class II-III rapids. Full day from Pacific Harbour, ages 8+. *(146 chars)*
About this experience
Deep in Viti Levu's highlands, the Navua River has carved a gorge so narrow in places you can almost touch both walls from the raft. Waterfalls drop straight into the water beside you, the rock is black volcanic basalt, and the whole stretch sits inside a protected conservation area that local landowning villages helped create. It's not a white-knuckle day — the rapids are Class II to III, so there's enough push to make you paddle and laugh, with long calm sections in between to just look up. Rivers Fiji has been running this since 1998 in partnership with American outfitter OARS, and they supply everything: helmet, life jacket, paddle, dry bag, deli lunch and snacks. Plan on a full day, roughly 6:45am to early evening, starting from their Pacific Harbour base. Minimum age is eight.
